Bible Resources
Online Sites for Reading and Studying the Bible
The sites listed below serve as excellent resources for reading and studying the Bible. Both offer many different versions in a variety of languages.
Search by entering a word or verse in the version you choose. Or, look right below the lefthand search box and click the link, “Bible Book List.” After you select a book in the Bible, a listing of the chapters for that book will appear. For example, click on “Matthew” and you’ll see links to the 28 chapters.
In the menu on the left, you can choose various ways to “Read the Bible.” A favorite Reading Plan is the "Old/New Testament" where you can read scripture from both the Old and New Testaments every day and complete the entire Bible in a year.
Under the “Study Tools” tab, click on “More Resources” to find Audio Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, and Encyclopedias, among other offerings.
This site has almost too many tools and features to explore! Notice along the top row you can select among the many Bible versions that are available.
A really handy feature of this site is being able to compare a scripture in several versions at once. To read one verse in many different versions, click on the word “Parallel.” While you're there, you can also read other related scriptures, listen to the audio version, or scroll way down the page to read various commentaries on that verse.
To read an entire chapter of the Bible in 5 different versions presented side-by-side, click on “PCH” for Parallel Chapters.
